I normally don't take components apart but I got some large transistors, I believe are IGBT type, that I ended up taking apart out of curiosity.
The dies are attached to a big heatsink and some have silver colored wire connecting different dies. I saw a older post that seemed to indicate they could go in Peripheral grade (before the split).
So... Are these consistent enough to go in a specific grade if they're knocked off whatever board they were on? Can these be disassembled at all (I assume the dies are soldered on?) or is there even any benefit to doing so? Are the wires actually silver/silver plate?
