I noticed that there is now a specific grade for laptop WiFi cards that is worth more than high telecom.

In the past, I've seen some users say they are gold fingered cards if you remove the shield. In the picture on the e scrap price list, the shield is attached. So to qualify for that, do we need to remove the shield?

Also, do bigger WiFi cards from older laptops count? I don't have a picture with me, but they are about the size of half of a playing card.

Years ago there was an unlisted air card class for wifi and wan cards. Today it’s posted as laptop wifi cards.
Without directly asking, go with the basics.
Small gold finger, tiny card. No larger than a credit card or playing card.

Remove shields that are not soldered.
PCMCIA and EC does NOT qualify. Needs fingers, not pins or ports.

I have been told that laptop wifi cards were gold finger in the past and I haven't sent any in to be aware of the unlisted classification. I'm glad there is a new category to clear up confusion!

very few cards qualified for it, mostly the Apple AirCard and expensive upgrade cards.
Technology, and value, has changed enough to boost the class out on its own.

Wifi n card design is as a whole more valuable. And has since also been outdated. With most a/b/g cards (less valuable generally) gone from use and scrap, just about everyone is using a design similar in recovery value to the old Apple cards today.
