When that popped up, I put a bunch of memory aside. When I got to filling out the paperwork, the memory buy was gone. :(
I can’t say for sure but my guess is this was a logistical nightmare. for one reason, how many people test their tested materials before sending them??! I can clearly imagine the guys opening up boxes of semi-loose memory and cursing the day they were born. Memory isn’t like LGA CPUs that have zif no plate testers. Each module needs to be inserted, clipped, and then tested cell by cell. The fastest testers will do 512 MB sticks in about an 15 minutes to an hour. Depending on the level of testing
I hate to say it, but I didn’t see this idea working out at all. I have a tester and won’t go through the trouble under 32GB.
