I’m scrapping a bunch of communications equipment from the early 90’s and I have a few of these boards which were used to connect banks of external modems. How should I classify these?

Also all of the ports had these connected to them before the cable from the modem. I think they are some sort of line filter/signal booster. How should I classify them?

I don't see anything that indicates backplane. A back plane must have at least two slots for cards. I think these will go as connector ends, unless there is something special in the filter chips.
