Looking for advice on what I should do with the board below? The IC is in a socket and is removable.

The board is low grade and no possibility of upgrade.
Remove the IC and keep for your IC collection.

On any removable IC like this one, if they don't pull out with your fingers, a small, longer flat head screwdriver slides right under the whole thing and pop up.

Remove the IC carefully. If you know what the item was a rom for it could be a quick auction flip for you.

Thanks for the fast response and the tip about auctioning it. I'll look into that.

It’s from sharper image. A known brand, and generally over priced expensive when new.
Given it’s low grade is pop the Tom and sell the rom and board separately.

You're correct, it was from an Ionic Breeze machine. Is there a market for used boards like this, even with the cut wires? Also any thoughts on the best places to sell these types of items? eBay? Craigslist? others?

The board isn’t going to get much with or without wires. But a known and limited supply board will always fetch a few bucks eventually.
SI roms, socketed roms in general, are fairly easy to sell. Just protect the pins when you ship it.

Ebay works well with non-computer roms if you cross post them in industrial along with the parts category for the class of device it’s from.
You’ll find a large supply of IDKWTFII parts under that category.

But targeted sales work even better. NewEgg is a great site to third party sell at if you jump through the hoops to get there.
It’s been a while since I’ve used it but tiger direct had a nice 3rd party service as well.

Tagging the title with sharper image rom SI
Is a good start for ebay.

The actual item number for the other two sites.
Sharper image rom #nnnnn

Thanks lost! This is a wealth of useful information.

I'll look into these options, and even if it just a few dollars, that is better than the few cents that I would get from scrapping it (and reuse is the better than recycling!)
